Darjeeling (“place of the thunderbolt”), is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of Darjeeling district, in the Shivalik Hills on the lower ranges of the Himalaya, at an average elevation of 2,134 m (6,982 ft). During the British Raj in India, Darjeeling's temperate climate led to its development as a hill station (hill town) for British residents to escape the heat of the plains during the summers. Day 01 : Delhi
Assemble at New Delhi Railway Station at 0600 Hrs. , to board your train the North East Express departing for New Jalpaiguri at 0645 Hrs. Overnight on board the train.
Day 02 : New Jalpaiguri - Darjeeling
0925 Hrs: Arrival New Jalpaiguri railway station. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to Darjeeling by surface. Arrive at the hotel in Darjeeling and check-in. Rest of the day free to relax. Dinner in the Hotel. Overnight in Darjeeling.
Day 03 : Darjeeling
Early morning sightseeing, visit Tiger Hill, Batasia Loop, War Memorial, Ghoom Monastery. Return to the hotel for Breakfast. Rest of the day free. Dinner in the Hotel. Overnight in Darjeeling.
Day 04 : Darjeeling
Breakfast in the Hotel. Half day local sightseeing, visiting the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway, Tenzing Rock, Padmaja Niadu Himalayan Zoological Park, Tibetan. Refugee self-help Centre and the Rock Garden. This afternoon is free for your own activities. Dinner in the hotel. Overnight in Darjeeling.
Day 05 : Darjeeling - Gangtok 
Breakfastin the hotel. Transfer to Gangtok by surface transport. Arrive and check in to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Gangtok.
Day 06 : Gangtok
Early morning proceed to visit - Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Tashi View Point. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Rest of the day at leisure to relax or explore the city on your own. Dinner in the Hotel. Overnight in Gangtok.
Day 07 : Gangtok
Breakfast in the Hotel. Visit Rumtek Monastery, Enchery Monastery, Chorten (Stupa), Research Institute of Tinetology, Botanical Gardens and Directorate of Handicrafts & Handlooms. Return to the hotel, rest of the day free. Dinner in the hotel. Overnight in Gangtok.
Day 08 : Gangtok - New Jalpaiguri
Breakfast in the Hotel. Day free till transfer from Gangtok to New Jalpaiguri Railway station to board your train departing at 1735 Hrs. to New Delhi. Overnight on board the train.
Day 09 : New Jalpaiguri - Delhi
Fullday in the train. 2025 Hrs. Arrive at New Delhi Railway Station. |
